Adding page content
Adding content to the page and posts is done in blocks. If you paste a long text copied from elsewhere on the page, it will automatically create text paragraph blocks.
What can be copied?
- The website administrator can make a copy of a single block on the page and paste it as a new block (option Copy from the block’s three-dot menu).
- The website administrator can duplicate an individual block on a page (select Duplicate block from the three-dot menu).
- The website administrator can make a copy of all blocks of the page at once and paste the content on another page (in the upper right corner, the three-point menu option Copy all blocks).
1. Adding text
You can add text blocks to a page or post:
- Paragraph
- Header
- List (dots, numbers)
- Quote
- Classic redactor
- Code
- Details (like small accordion)
- Preformatted
- Pullquite (placed next to the text)
- Table
- Verse
- Footnotes
Paragraph possibilities:
- Alignment
- Bold text
- Italics
- Adding a link
- Subscript
- A footnote
- Highlighting (colored text and background)
- Inline code
- Keyboard input
- Language (left to right, right to left)
- Strike through
- In-text image
- Superscript
Adding table
To add a table, the Table block must be added to the page. By creating a table you can:
- set the number of columns and rows,
- design text that has the same options as in the text of the paragraph,
- add and delete columns and rows,
- choose between two styles (Default and Stripe),
- add a signature (no title).
2. Adding image
You can add an image to a page in different ways:
- As a Image block
- As a Media and text block, if you want to add text to the column next to the image
- As a Classic block, adding text and image with the add media file button and aligning the image to the text
You can add a caption to the image, which can be added when you upload the image in the media library or after adding the image to the page using the Add caption button. You can also add a link to the images caption (including the one that opens in a new window).
The image can be cropped in the block and shaped to some extent (e.g. add color effects and shadows).
3. Adding audio
Adding audio to the page is done with the audio block. Audio can be added:
- As an audio file by uploading a file using the Upload button or selecting a file from the media library.
- As a link using Insert from URL.
You can add a caption to the audio, which can also be made into a link.
4. Adding video
Adding a video to a page is done with the video block. Video can be added:
- As a video file by uploading a file using the Upload button or selecting a file from the media library
- YouTube video with a link using Insert from URL
- You can add a caption under the video which can also be made into a link.
- Adding Panopto and UTTV video is done with the Custom html block (paste the embed code into the html code box).
NB! It is not possible to add a caption to a video added using the custom html block – add the caption under the video as a paragraph block.
5. Adding iFrame
An external web page can be integrated into a page using an iFrame. An iFrame can be added with a Custom html block.
For example embedding LimeSurvey survey:
Copy the following code into the HTML: <iframe height=”900″ src=”https://survey.ut.ee/index.php/Sinu_Veebivormi_ID” width=”100%”></iframe>
For example adding Panopto or UTTV video with embed code.
NB! The address of the web page to be integrated must start with https (not http), otherwise their display will be blocked by the web browser.
6. Adding file
The file is added with the File block.
A link to the file will appear (opens on top of the web page), after which there is a button to download the file.
7. Adding an accordion
This function allows you to add thinking tasks, additional reading, etc. between the text, which opens by clicking on the corresponding text.
It is possible to add accordions to the page and choose a different style for them. To add an accordion, add the Accordion block to the page. You can play the accordion
- choose the background color (Background color), which is white by default
- set the accordion to open immediately when opening the page (turn on the Show content immediately button), the accordion is closed by default
- add title and content
- add rows (Add row)
