Communication in Moodle

Communication is one of the most important activities in an e-course – it helps to alleviate loneliness, ensures that necessary information is delivered to the right people at the right time, and helps to create a functioning learning community.

Communicating in an e-course may be synchronous (happening in real time) or asynchronous (with a delay). For real-time communication, the participants should use the same resource at an agreed time. This enables immediate contact and quick exchange of information, yet it sets temporal and technical restrictions.
