Week 6: Multilingual higher education

Week 6 invites you to think about the issues related to languages in higher education institutions in the light of globalisation and internationalisation. An issue of the English language becoming dominating language of instruction has risen up in recent decade. How to integrate minority languages into higher education at the same time keeping the balance between national language and English as lingua franca of higher education and science? You will find out, what multilingualism means in the context of higher education. Also, three examples of multilingual universities in Europe will be presented, and the aspect of culture and intercultural communication are discussed.
