ELEVENTH ANNUAL TARTU CONFERENCE
ON EAST EUROPEAN AND EURASIAN STUDIES

16-18 June 2027, Tartu, Estonia

The 11th Annual Tartu Conference on East European and Eurasian Studies (TCEEES) will be held jointly with the 17th Conference on Baltic Studies in Europe (CBSE) at the University of Tartu, Estonia. The conference theme and Call for Papers will be announced in September 2026.

The Conference on Baltic Studies in Europe (CBSE) is a leading interdisciplinary forum for scholars working on Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and the wider Baltic region. Held in alternating years with the Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies (AABS) Conference in North America, CBSE brings together research from the humanities, social sciences, and related fields.

The Tartu Conference is a venue for academic discussion of the fundamental cultural, social, economic and political trends affecting all aspects of life in Eastern Europe and Eurasia. Organised by the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies and the Centre for East European and Eurasian Studies (CEURUS) at the University of Tartu, this forum brings together scholars from across multiple disciplines, from the region and beyond.

The joint conference will feature panels, roundtables, and plenary sessions addressing the conference theme, as well as other topics related to past and present developments across the Baltic region, Eastern Europe, and Eurasia. Comparative and interdisciplinary perspectives are especially welcome. The Programme Committee will consider all proposals, although full panel proposals are encouraged.

In 2020, the Tartu Conference was nominated for the first ICCEES Award for the Promotion of International Cooperation. We would like to thank all partners and participants for making it happen!
