RENE meeting in Portugal – impressions from Slovenian team

 

Erasmus+ led us, three students Tine Šket, Tinkara Kozovinc and Lea Križman, alongside two mentors and professors doc. dr. Tine Kovačič and Tatjana Horvat all the way to Portugal in order to participate in practical part of RENE project. Despite the COVID-19 restrictions, we were able to have a full experience. We spent our days in Polytechnic Institute of Setubal, where practical lessons were carried out. After introductions on Monday, we continued we full speed. After each session, we had a feedback discussion, where we were able to exchange each others view points and expand our horizon with expiriances from others. Between sessions and after work for the day has finished, we were able to socialize with other students, share our thoughts, get to know each other, compare our view points and differences between our universities and most importantly, we hopefully formed friendships, that will last a long time. To sum everything up, we are extremely thankful for this experience, where we learned a lot of new things, met a lot of interesting people and were able to broaden our horizons.

Since our paths crossed for the first time during your physiotherapy studies, Tatjana and I recognized the potential in you…. That’s why we later became a wonderful working team in a family of expert physiotherapists as physiotherapy students in the RENE project, which we have been working on together for quite some time. These days in intensive week in Portugal, Tatjana and I were so proud that you proved yourself in working on the RENE project, showing the knowledge we passed on to you that you really excelled. It was a privilege to work on the RENE project, an important subject that will definitely come to life in the future at the AMEU with 5 ECTS, as it contains important practical and theoretical contents of ergonomics in physiotherapy.

Although you went through stressful moments, through many sacrifices, as you sacrificed your free time for further studies, you are a winner today for working on the RENE project, because your strength is unbreakable. Our efforts and hard work are rewarded. I think we can all really be immensely pleased with our PT mission in ergonomy….Genuine bonds were forged between us as we supported each other in upgrading our knowledge, skills and competencies … We also learned a lot from you students and all that we have, I could not have achieved without such dedicated physiotherapy students and everything we’ve learned from each of you over the years, days.

We are really proud of the work done together, whhen we look back and see what we have built together, how we grow and develop togethe and how the RENE project is slowly getting the final shape and there are still a few months of work ahead, but this time without you students. With other strategic partners we will meet in zoom meetings and in live a few more times before the project officially ends. We are also convinced that you were in good hands during your studies at AMEU and during RENE intensive weeks in Portugal. Since you were truly exceptional, I would like to thank you and Tatjana and other colleagues for your exceptional dedication, professionalism and efficiency. This will definitely be reflected in your daily physiotherapy work, and in the work of our colleagues, who will improve the ergonomics of knowledge and competencies in their physiotherapy work in the future with our help. These days, Tatjana and I helped the RENE project to bring together evidence-based physiotherapy practice in many transfers, helped prepare best practice examples in the emerging Handbook, and I believe that future training of physiotherapists at AMEU will be due to all content. RENE project even better.
