Teleworking in an Erasmus+ Project: the experience in the RENE project

In essence, Erasmus Strategic Partnerships share innovative practices and promote cooperation, peer learning, and exchanges of experiences in the fields of education, training, and youth. This type of transnational projects usually include some kind of mobility activities of students and teachers such as occasional transnational meetings or intensive face-to-face training. However, the current Pandemics has had an important impact on these type of activities and, in the case of the RENE project, two transnational meetings initially planned at Slovenia and Estonia have been substituted by Consortium intensive online meetings.

Few activities such as the recording of some videos of patient handling and mobility have been done in the academic setting (higher education institutions). However, most working activities have been developed via online. The technology has been crucial to achieve the project goals in the planned timeline. The RENE team has used zoom and Microsoft Teams as the main communication platforms for all the frequent meetings.

Working from home has become very common in the last year, with all his pros and cons. The RENE team members have been adapting to this new situation and dealing with different issues such as potentially increased sedentary behaviour, social face-to-face isolation, workspace adaptation or family conciliation, among others. On the other hand, remote-work has decreased the amount of time spent travelling and sometimes inspiration and working performance is enhanced. However, we are looking forward meeting again face-to-face when possible!
