How to change specialisations?

No matter how much thought and planning people put into their choice of specialisation, there is always a chance that they will want or need to change it. Our interests, goals, values, knowledge and skills evolve and change, our view of the world broadens and new opportunities open up that excite us to explore and try new things. Sometimes the need to change may also be due to the fact that the chosen specialisation is too demanding.

To change the curriculum, you can apply for a free student place in another curriculum or be readmitted to the university.

• In applying for a free student place, you must consider that a place might not become available. Also, if you take up a free place, you must continue with the semester currently underway. For example, if you transfer to a new curriculum in the fourth semester, you should have already completed enough courses of the new curriculum to catch up and avoid falling behind.
• Readmission to the university means starting your studies again from the beginning. To apply, you must submit an application, fulfil the admission requirements and be admitted. When being readmitted, previous studies are not automatically transferred. If you wish, you can transfer courses that you have previously passed via the recognition of prior learning and experience.
  Note! Readmission to the university involves restrictions on studying tuition-free for the second or more time.
