Tartu Conference on East European and Eurasian Studies

Submit a Roundtable Proposal

  • Roundtables entail a structured discussion of a relevant topic/theme, without the presentation of papers. Participants of a roundtable will talk with each other and with the audience about a common topic on which they have diverse experience or perspectives. Proposals for roundtables should be submitted only when the topic clearly justifies this format;
  • Roundtable must have a chair and 4-5 speakers;
  • Roundtable proposals must include the names, affiliations and contact information of the chair and all speakers. The chair of the roundtable should submit the required information for all speakers. The chair is responsible for obtaining the permission to do so from the speakers;
  • The speakers on a roundtable must be from at least two different institutions, and preferably from at least two different countries;
  • Proposals for multidisciplinary roundtables are welcome.

Roundtable organiser has to create an account with ConfTool to be able to initiate a new panel proposal. There is no need to create accounts for other speakers before submitting a proposal. This will be done automatically for each panelist on the basis of your submitted data; we will contact them within 1–2 weeks with a request to confirm their participation and complete their registration in the conference database. Please note, however, that the Programme Committee will not consider the proposals for roundtables whose participants have not confirmed their ConfTool accounts by the 20 January deadline.
