Tartu Conference on East European and Eurasian Studies
Submit a Full Panel
- Panels entail presentation of prepared papers on a related topic or theme, followed by a structured discussion of those papers. A full panel must have one chair, 3-5 paper-givers, and one discussant;
- Panel proposals must include 1) a panel abstract, 2) names, affiliations and contact information of all speakers, along with abstracts of the proposed papers (max 300 words each);
- The organiser of the panel (who can be the chair or one of the speakers) should submit the required information for the entire panel. The organiser is responsible for obtaining the permission to do so from the speakers/other participants;
- There is no need to submit an individual paper proposal for a paper that is already part of an organised panel;
- The presenters on a panel must be from at least two different institutions;
- Proposals for multidisciplinary panels are welcome.
We welcome panel proposals that include chair and discussant names and contact details. However, we do understand that it is often difficult to identify potential chairs and discussants in advance. The ‘Discussant(s)’ section may be left blank. For technical reasons, this is not an option for ‘Chairs’. If you do not have a chair at the time of submission, please enter panel organiser’s data instead, and indicate in the ‘Remark/Message’ field that you would like the chair to be replaced later.
Panel organiser has to create an account with ConfTool to be able to initiate a new panel proposal. There is no need to create accounts for other panel members before submitting a proposal. This will be done automatically for each panellist on the basis of your submitted data; we will contact them within 1–2 weeks with a request to confirm their participation and complete their registration in the conference database. Please note, however, that the Programme Committee will not consider the proposals for panels whose members have not confirmed their ConfTool accounts. Please make sure that all panelists do this without delay upon receiving the notification from ConfTool.
