Toolbox

The Toolbox is primarily meant for educators and teachers in Europe at university and college level, but has content useful for teachers engaged in any level of education. The Toolbox primarily contains resources for those teaching in diverse classrooms, as well as those teaching sensitive topics (whether in a diverse classroom, diverse groups of students or not). Both concepts – diversity and sensitive topics – are defined broadly:

All classrooms are diverse. Diversity implies any difference, such as income, social class, religious, ethnic, linguistics and others.

Sensitive topics are unavoidable and integral to critical education. Often, teachers are unable to anticipate what their students consider as sensitive content, due to diverse student experiences and backrgounds.

The Toolbox simultaneously attempts to cultivate and develop analytical and critical skills as well as skills for engaging diversityThe Toolbox provides a variety of content to help teachers develop good practices in teaching in four areas:

  • inclusive teaching
  • inclusive online teaching
  • reflective teaching
  • conflicts in classroom

For each topic, there is a short description, case studies (with real-life, concrete examples and illustrations), teaching strategies and handouts.
