The heart of the Heritage Festival is an exhibition and fair area dedicated to showcasing heritage skills and spiritual heritage phenomena in and around the Viljandi Sports Hall and the Traditional Music Center. With the Repair Area and the Folk Music Harvest Party happening simultaneously, Viljandi transforms into the capital of Estonian cultural heritage for the weekend.

A varied and exciting program awaits you at the Heritage Festival. Here, you can explore spiritual heritage, craft skills, and practical repair techniques. Workshops and masterclasses will be held in different areas of the festival, offering you the chance to acquire new skills and knowledge in heritage conservation, as well as modern sustainability solutions. The heritage stage will feature musical performances, shows, and educational presentations.

In the outdoor area of the festival, located in Freedom Square, you can participate in demonstrations of traditional crafts and techniques. The program will also include heritage sports competitions to introduce forgotten but essential skills in a fun way, heritage-themed EXHIBITIONS (in the festival area, the Rüki Gallery, and other locations around the city), and heritage food offered by Viljandi’s catering establishments.
