The Estonian Dialect Syntax project (EstDiaSyn) studies the morphosyntactic variation of Estonian dialects, using data from the electronic Corpus of Estonian Dialects. The project represents data-driven dialectology and is the first project in Estonian linguistics to apply both qualitative and quantitative research methods on dialect material.

The online course “Instrumental Analysis of Cultural Heritage Objects” focuses on the instrumental analysis of cultural heritage objects (paint, varnishes, textiles, dyes, paper, archaeological findings etc). The course gives an overview of the most widespread instrumental techniques – both destructive and non-destructive – such as optical microscopy, IR and Raman spectroscopy, SEM-EDS, XRF and XRD, (LA)-ICP-MS, GC-MS, LC-MS, HRMS, etc. The course provides the basic knowledge and key aspects of different analytical methods focusing on their capabilities for the chemical analysis of cultural heritage objects as well as interpretation of the obtained results. The course contains video lectures, textual materials for more thorough reading and numerous tests for self-testing. An important part of the course are practical examples (videos) and useful tips connected with the analysis of cultural heritage materials. This is an 1 ECTS course and organized in 6 weeks. This course is coordinated by the Chair of Analytical Chemistry, Institute of Chemistry at University of Tartu, Estonia. This online course has brought together researchers, master and PhD students from different fields: analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, archaeology and geology.
