Laboratory of X-ray Spectroscopy

Laboratory of X-ray Spectroscopy of the Institute of Physics, University of Tartu is dealing both with development of novel nanomaterials and with its characterization by methods of advanced electron microscopy, XPS and X-ray techniques. The researchers of the laboratory have close connections with the MAX-IV synchrotron radiation source laboratory in Lund, Sweden and can use it, when excitation of materials by high energy particles is needed for deep characterization of novel nanomaterials or modification of their properties.

The X-ray spectroscopy laboratory have deep previous and fruitful partnership with the Microbe and material interactions research group of Prof Angela Ivask at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in the field of development of novel antibacterial materials.
