Kava/Program

Sarja üheteistkümnes kultuuriõhtu keskendub USA tänupüha traditsioonidele. Võõrustajateks on TÜ töötajad ja üliõpilased USAst koos Tartu Ameerika Nurga, TÜ personaliosakonna ja Tartu loodusmaja inimestega – tutvustatakse tänupüha tavasid ning kombeid. Õhtusöögil saab proovida erinevaid tänupühade toite. Õhtu üheks osaks on USA vaieldamatusse filmiklassikasse kuuluva filmi “Malta pistrik” vaatamine ja arutelu professor Raili Marlinguga. On võimalus osaleda kolmes õpitoas: Tänupüha toitude õpituba, seltskonnamängude õpituba või vestlusring Ameerika inglise keeles, mida juhendab Janice Viinalass. Lapsi ootab mängunurk ja meisterdamise õpituba.

The eleventh event in the series will introduce the Thanksgiving traditions of USA. The event will take place in the Tartu Nature House at Lille 10, Tartu, on 22 November and is hosted by the UT staff and students from USA together with Tartu American Corner, UT Human Resources Office and Tartu Nature House. You will have the chance to learn about the customs and traditions of Thanksgiving in the USA and to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. You can watch one of the most popular and best classic detective mysteries ever made “The Maltese Falcon” followed by a discussion led by professor Raili Marling. You can take part in three activities: you can make Thanksgiving food, take part in an game workshop or take part in an American English conversation class led by Janice Viinalass. There is a special kids’ corner for younger participants and a separate crafting workshop is also organized.

Osalemine/Participation

Oodatud on huvilised igas vanuses! Õhtu on inglise keeles eestikeelsete selgitustega. Ürituse osalustasu on 5 eurot, alla 10 a lapsed osalevad tasuta. Registreerumiseks palun vajutage siia (registreerumine on lõppenud). Kuna kohtade arv on piiratud, palume tasuda osavõtumaks ning ennast kirja panna esimesel võimalusel. Everybody is welcome, regardless of age! The event will be held in English and explanations will be provided in Estonian. The event is free for kids under the age 10 and costs 5 euros for others. For registration, please follow the link (registration is closed). As the number of places is limited, we kindly request you to transfer the participation fee and register as early as possible. • Me ei planeeri riskantseid tegevusi, ent osalemine on ikkagi omal vastutusel. Palume lastega tulijatel neil ise silm peal hoida. Anname oma parima, et sündmused sujuksid kenasti, kuid TÜ ega Tartu loodusmaja ei vastuta ettenägematute probleemsete juhtumite eest (vargus, vigastus jmt). /  We don’t plan dangerous activities but participation is still at your own risk.
