The main research subjects include knowledge extraction from location-based data, computations for parallel solution of large sparse systems of linear equations, automatic parallelization of numerically intensive codes. The group is developing the concept of friend-to-friend computing for easy setup of spontaneous desktop grids triggered through instant messaging software.
