Working with me you will learn about anthropogenic impacts on Earth’s climate and learn how to analyse large datasets in a programming environment.

 

Potential student projects (MSc or BSc level)

• Satellite obervations of aerosol impacts on clouds

• Automatic detection of polluted clouds in satellite images via machine learning

• Comparing observed anthropogenic impacts on clouds to climate models

• Using machine learning to quantify the influence of COVID lockdowns on air quality

• Climate projections for the Baltic Sea Region and Estonia

 

The research methods include statistical analysis of remote sensing and climate model data, machine learning and physical modelling.
