Founded in 1996, Interlitteraria is the annual peer-reviewed journal of the Chair of Comparative Literature in the University of Tartu, and the Estonian Association of Comparative Literature. Interlitteraria publishes original articles in English, French, German and Spanish, in the field of comparative literature. Preference is given to papers that focus on intercultural contexts of literary phenomena. Interlitteraria also publishes translations into the above-mentioned languages of articles which have earlier appeared in other (less widely-known) languages. The maximum length of an article is 6000 words. Interlitteraria’s issues are both monographic (e. g. gathering articles based on the papers of the EACL international conferences) and free topic (enabling the journal to develop a variety of themes). Annually, a volume in two fascicles is published. The annual deadline for manuscript submission is January 31. (University of Tartu Press)
Interlitteraria is the only Estonian academic journal in the field of literary studies published and accessible exclusively in major Western international languages. The journal’s reading public is the entire international community of literary and cultural scholars. Among four languages used in Interlitteraria, English has prevailed, but to accentuate the trans-national essence of comparative literary research, as such, German, Spanish and French have never been neglected in the journal.
Interlitteraria is indexed in Web of Science, ERIH PLUS (European Reference Index for the Humanities), and CEEOL (Central and Eastern European Online Library). The journal is available in open access via its website.
