Marju Himma

Marju Himma is an Associate Professor of journalism studies at the University of Tartu, Estonia. Her research combines studies on news work, information disorders and media and information literacy of different generations. She has published articles on contextual factors that lead to publishing misinformation or disinformation in journalism. She studied the skills journalists use in debunking different forms of information disorders.

Anne Reino

Anne Reino is Associate Professor of Management at Univeristy of Tartu. Her research is in the field of management and organizational studies. She earned her PhD in economics and business administration from the University of Tartu. Her academic work has explored the relationship between organizational values and everyday managerial practices, as well as issues related to sustainability and corporate responsibility. In addition to research, she contributes teaching and academic development in management and business education in Estonia.

In this joint presentation, Anne Reino and Marju Himma explore how changing expectations about work, leadership, and well-being are reshaping organizations and professional cultures.

Associate Professor of Management Anne Reino discusses current trends in leadership and management, the skills increasingly valued by employers, evolving employee profiles, and the expectations younger generations have toward employers, workplaces, and the meaning of work itself. She also reflects on what creates happiness at work and how professional well-being can be understood in contemporary organizations.

Associate Professor of Journalism Studies Marju Himma connects these broader management and organizational trends to the realities of newsrooms and practical journalism. Drawing on the perspective of media organizations and journalistic work, she examines how leadership challenges, workplace expectations, and questions of professional fulfillment are manifested in journalistic practice.
