European Actuarial Journal Conference 2022 Tartu, Estonia

On behalf of the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics of University of Tartu and Estonian Actuarial Society, we are delighted to invite you to the 5th European Actuarial Journal conference, which is to take place in Tartu, Estonia (August 22–24, 2022). The aim of the conference is to bring together practicing actuaries and academics to discuss current topics in the insurance industry and to examine links between actuarial theory and practice.

Tartu is Estonia’s second largest city with a population of 100 000. It​ is considered a genuine university town where every fifth resident is a student. Tartu is a colourful combination of cultural heritage and modernness.​ As one of the oldest cities in the Baltics, Tartu offers exciting sights every step of the way, especially in the city centre, which is a unique national heritage conservation area. Here you can find examples of styles from medieval times to present-day modern architecture that are complemented with cozy cafes and unique restaurants, urban nature and the lively buzz of the student city. ​

University of Tartu was founded in 1632 by the King Gustavus II Adolphus of Sweden. It is the most prestigious university of Estonia. According to the QS World University rankings University of Tartu belongs to the TOP 1.2% of the world's best universities. 

The venue of this year’s edition will be the Delta Centre of the University of Tartu, which is one of the most modern centres of digital technology, analytical and economic thought in the Nordic region. Delta is a unique cross-disciplinary centre for learning, research and innovation the likes of which are difficult to find in Europe.
