Composition of the Final Grade

The grade for the thesis is calculated based on the following components:

Components Weighting
Glasgow reviewer 25% of final grade
Tartu reviewer 25% of final grade
Third mobility reviewer 25% of final grade
Oral defence 25% of final grade

Grade Appeal

If students find the final result of the MA thesis to be unfair, they can present their argument in an appeal to the programme managers of the University of Glasgow within five working days after the final defence. The programme manager will appoint an external examiner who provides a fourth opinion on the thesis. The Joint Board of Examiners discusses and decides upon the appeal, taking into account all four reviews and assessments. The Joint Board of Examiners can either raise or lower the grade. This decision is final.
