Welcome! Our research group investigates the physical, biological, and chemical processes that govern the exchange of trace gases, water, and energy between the ground surface and the atmosphere. We investigate how the exchange of greenhouse gases between land and atmosphere responds to changing climate and disturbances like flooding and heatwaves, as well as how land management practices might be changed to adapt to and reduce climate change. We use chamber-based observations, modelling, and micrometeorological measurements to comprehend interactions between soil, vegetation, and atmosphere at various geographical and temporal scales. To support and promote climate policy, we work with a diverse collection of researchers and institutions.
