Zoom instead of Budapest – II transnational project meeting (November 2020)

Zoom instead of Budapest – II transnational project meeting

The second transnational project meeting was planned to take place in beautiful Budapest in September 2020. But, instead, we met online in November. The uncertain times have affected all our lives quite a lot, and because of that, we have played around with our timeline quite many times.

We started the meeting with an overview of IO-s. Although we are all working with them and contributing to each other’s work, understanding the state of play and following steps is essential for gaining the bigger picture. Everybody presented their development, main challenges they are facing, needs for help, and next steps they plan to start working on.

As the first interim report was approaching, we discussed the topics we should emphasize and shared the workload. In this way, we can be clear that we will all contribute to project management and gain the necessary learning experience.

Our colleagues from CEU lead a discussion on how to get more on the same page with our works and create as cohesive IO-s as possible.

On the second day, we talked about sensitive and controversial topics. For instance, what are “sensitive” and “controversial” issues in our states and cultures, and how do we understand the difference between these two terms. As this is the core question of our project and there are various approaches to the terminology, we agreed on our own interpretation that we will be using.

We also met with Kait from the University of Tartu, who, in addition to local technicians, helps us create a common visual identity as well as helps to put our ideas into reality. We agreed that we would have a workshop with him to learn H5P opportunities to develop useful, and interactive technical solutions to our MOOC-s, e-courses, e-modules, etc.

The last part of the meeting was dedicated to changes we want, ought, and should make due to COVID. As it is unclear how long the situation might last, we discussed the timeline and financial situation—also changed ideas on the ideas that we would like to put into practice and the tasks we have taken on board according to the project application.

Many questions found necessary answers, while many needed further thinking and meetings. While it was nice to see each other, we all recognised that COVID-19 has brought additional workload to all of us inside and outside the project. In summary, the topics we are working on, are inspiring and all of us have the motivation to conclude the necessary tasks.
