Multiplier event in Poland

Summary of the Multiplier event in Poland within the framework of the SensiClass project

The multiplier event was held online in the virtual premises of the Maria Grzegorzewska University (APS) in Warsaw, Poland. The participants were students of psychology (MA level, 5th year). The event started on 13:30 with a duration of 6 hrs (with breaks). There were 19 participants + 3 presenters:

  • Katarzyna Górak-Sosnowska
  • Urszula Markowska-Manista
  • Dominika Zakrzewska-Olędzka, who hosted the Sensiclass team at APS.

The event was aimed to test 5 e-modules prepared within IO1, namely:

  • Quick judgements vs reasoning. How does morality work?
  • History and counter-history: Roma and historical narrative(s)
  • Multiple identities of Muslims in Europe
  • The “absent present” challenges of educating about Jews in Central and Eastern Europe
  • Confronting refugee-related stereotypes in the classroom All e-modules have been published at: https://sisu.ut.ee/sensiclass/guidance-materials

The event started with an introduction about the project and the issue of sensitive topics in CEE context. Then the students were divided into 5 groups and each group worked with one e-module. On a dedicated space at https://padlet.com/dzakrzewskaoledzka/9i1og5srojf0v01k they were filling in a template with feedback about the e-modules. Meanwhile the groups were asked about the progress of their work. Following they have presented their insights to other students. The even was concluded by a lecture about sensitive topics in the context of teaching about Islam and Muslims in Poland.

The participants received certificates of participation. The recordings of the event are here and here.
