Exercise 3. My social media could affect political Islamophobia

Duration: 30 min

Teaching methods: group discussion, storytelling, film

The goal of this exercise: to illustrate the ways in which political groups in Central and Eastern Europe are gaining support among young people by using hijab motifs.

Instructions for the teacher:

  • guide pupils about the term of “Islamophobia” and the consequences it may bring,
  • watch films and identify the factors and common problems regarding Islamophobia,
  • begin discussing ideas for eliminating Islamophobia (you can also use worksheet_8.4.pdf)
