Steps towards reflective teaching

Lenses:

Self-reflection is then key for developing into a critically reflective teacher. It is a process of self-observation and self-evaluation, which improves teaching and learning practices. Self-reflection allows teachers to see themselves as interactive participants, rather than bystanders (Larrivee 2000). According to Stephen Brookfield (1995) there are four critically reflective “lenses,” which can be seen as sources of evidence that inform critically reflective teaching:
