The introductory lectures involve two videos. They are interviews conducted by Heidi Maiberg (University of Tartu; Royal Holloway, University of London) with Lynn Davies (Birmingham University).
This interview with Lynn Davies (Birmingham University) focuses on the role of school in preventing (violent) extremism. In the discussion, the researcher highlights the need to include schools in the preventative process. However, she elaborates on the need to provide necessary tools for schools to do so, as well as create cooperation network with different partners.

The second interview includes a discussion with Lynn Davies (Birmingham University) on the perspectives of Estonian teachers on preventing extremism. In the video, statements of Estonian general education schools were analysed and discussed. Davies provided her insight and recommendations on the situations discussed.
The statements come from a pilot study “In between the need and the uncertainty: Estonian teachers’ ambiguities, experiences and reflections in tackling extremism in the classroom” conducted by Heidi Maiberg and Alar Kilp (2022) – https://pressto.amu.edu.pl/index.php/sr/article/view/29563
