The establishment of the Estonian Cancer Network was initiated by the Ministry of Social Affairs in 2024 to improve cancer prevention, early detection, treatment and to strengthen research and innovation collaboration in Estonia. The establishment of the Cancer Network was made possible thanks to funding by the National Research and Development Council. The founding of the Centre was supported by 10 partner organizations, including healthcare, research and educational institutions, and a patient organization.
The Cancer Network acts as a cooperation platform that connects different parties and sectors to ensure science-based and coordinated solutions in cancer control. The Network participates in international research and innovation projects and follows European best practices to bring the quality of Estonian cancer control in line with international standards.
Our goal is to improve treatment options for cancer patients, support the introduction of innovative solutions and strengthen cooperation at both the national and international levels.
