Search
By default, the Basic Search page is displayed, where the search words are searched in the title, authors, keywords, subjects and abstract. You can use Boolean operators, proximity operators and truncation.
Before performing a search, the search can be limited by several characteristics by clicking on the corresponding options below the search box. You can choose to find only results that contain the full text of an article that has been peer-reviewed or has been published within a certain period of time.
The Advanced Search option allows you to choose multiple fields at the same time, such as All text, Author, Title, Subject, Journal title, Abstract. You can combine search words on different fields by using Boolean operators AND, OR and NOT.
If you do not change the default selection Select a field (optional), all fields are searched excluding the full texts of the articles.
Under Filters, you can choose various characteristics to limit the search. In addition to the Basic Search filters (full text, peer-reviewed articles, time period), it is possible to specify which journal articles are found in, that articles that contain the full text in pdf format are found, you can choose which language you want the articles in, and you can also search by article author and title.
Under Search Options you can choose Search modes and dxpand the search under Expanders.
Proximity The proximity operator N5 works as a default here, meaning that you will find results where the maximum distance between the searched words is five words from each other. If you want to target your search more precisely, use the Boolean operators AND, OR, NOT or other proximity operators. If you want to find an exact phrase, you have to put it in quotation marks.
Find all my search terms – This is the default option of search modes. It automatically connects all searched words with AND, meaning that all your results will contain the entered search words (but not necessarily on the same fields or in proximity to each other). You can also use other Boolean operators inside this search.
Find any of my search terms – Searched terms are connected with OR, meaning that the results contain atleast one of the searched terms.
Smart Text Searching – You can enter a longer text here. The system will analyse the entered text and the results will be ordered by relevancy. This type of search usually gives a lot of results, many of which might not be relevant for you. If the beforementioned search modes don’t give any results, the Smart Text Searching will be automatically applied.
