Sustainable craft – practice, theory, and concept by Niina Väänänen

Sustainability in crafts is a rising theme in craft and design research, but what does sustainable craft exactly mean? This presentation explains the theory and concept of sustainable craft, based on Niina Väänänen’s dissertation in 2020, Sustainable craft – dismantled and reassembled. The presentation also brings out latest viewpoints from research related to the topic and examples on how to apply theory into practice.
There will be a 35 minute lecture via Zoom, followed by 10 minutes of questions.
