IMCEERES Digital Programme Guide
Year 1, Semester 1 (University of Tartu)
The first semester in Tartu provides a solid platform for the remainder of the double degree programme. The core course ‘Introduction to CEERES’ ensures that students have requisite knowledge of important historical, social, economic and political themes related to our areas of study.
Additionally, the semester is vital in determining dissertation topics. As part of the assessment for ‘Introduction to CEERES’, students will be required to compose MA thesis proposals. These are crucial in determining thesis supervision and third mobilities in Year 2. All students must complete language training. You will continue to study this language in semester two, in Glasgow.

Overall, students must complete 30 ECTS during the first semester: 24 ECTS from the compulsory courses and 6-12 ECTS from language courses. Students can take additional courses, but these will not count towards the degree. Note that UT generally does not have an audit status, meaning that in additional courses, students are still expected to submit assignments, and will receive a final grade.
