Corvinus University of Budapest
Corvinus University is Hungary’s most eminent educational institution in the fields of Economic, Management, and Social Sciences. University-level education, just as in the most advanced countries of the world, started in Budapest in the 1920s at the autonomous Economics Faculty of the Hungarian Royal University of Science. CUB has numerous BA programmes and MA programmes, joint programmes with partners in the EU, and accredited doctoral schools. We have received accreditation from renowned AMBA, the Association of MBAs. This international organisation is one of the world’s leading authorities on postgraduate business education. Fewer than 300 business schools in the world hold this accreditation, the first in Hungary being Corvinus.
Corvinus with its institutions has 540 academic staff, over 12,000 students and 400 international agreements with universities in over 70 countries. It is a member of several international associations such as the European University Association and the International Association of Universities. Corvinus’ Department of Political Science is one of the most prestigious social science educational units in Hungary: in 2020 it succeeded in being ranked among Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). We teach economics, international studies, political science and business at BA, MA, and doctoral levels.

Oral exam on course topics
All students have to take and pass a final oral exam, which is based on the core subjects of their studies. The questions are framed on the basis of the lectures and literature of the ‘required courses’: Politics of Transition and Challenges to Security. Students will draw 1 question out of a list of 11 provided a month before the exam. Passing the first part of the Exam is a precondition for the defence.
On completion of this oral examination on course topics students will move directly to the oral defence of their thesis.
Please note that missing deadlines or requesting any individual change might mean additional expenses, including extra language classes (as noted above).
Upon any individual extension request, students are to pay an extra HUF 66,700 fee for supervision costs.
