Group libraries

In Zotero you can also create groups where you collect and manage records together with other people. You can do so on the Zotero homepage. Groups can be public or private. You can search for and join public groups on the Zotero homepage.

To create a group, log in on the Zotero homepage and click on Groups -> Create a new Group. Give the group a name and decide if you want it to be public or private. By clicking on Group Settings -> Library Settings, you can set what other members can do. For them to be able to see all the records and add new ones, select Any Group Member. Now you can send invitations to the people you want to join your group.

A group may be private (only group members can see it; you have to get an invite to join), public closed (everyone can see the records but to join you have to get an invite), public open, (everyone can see it and everyone can join).  The public open group only has records, you can not add files there.

The group folders will appear in your Zotero program under Group Libraries. You can manage the folders from your Zorero window.

The records will be transfered to the folder that is currently activated and also to My Library. To move a record, just drag it to a folder.
