A workshop on the topic of “The E-government – guardian of privacy or a threat to it?”
Carri Ginter spoke on the topic Cameras and Mobile Phones in Preserving Order.
Ginters presentation focused on privacy issues surrounding the desire of the central government to use more cameras and data to preserve order. Russia serves as a good reminder how dangerous surveillance may become. The centralized system of cameras, including the doorbells on apartment buildings being linked to AI and the central police databases makes the creation of an effective opposition very difficult.
