Call for Participants! Our second joint training session from 28.02 until 4.03.2022

We are thrilled to invite you to our second joint training for the teachers and educators of the network universities on teaching sensitive issues which will be held online from 28/02/2022 till 04/03/2022
The event will be composed of various workshops were participants can test and feedback the materials conducted by academic lecturers from the University of Tartu, Central European University, Warsaw School of Economics and the University of Hradec Králové. Topics of these workshops vary from teaching about Islam, gender or migration and more. Workshops agenda is following:

Monday, 28th of February

  • at 10AM-1PM (CET) Is gender an issue in the classroom?” by Heidi Maiberg (University of Tartu)
  • at 4-6PM (CET) “Should I talk to my class about a recent terror attack?” by Heidi Maiberg (University of Tartu)

Tuesday, 1st of March

  • at 10AM-12PM (CET) “Inclusive online teaching” by Jekatyerina Dunajeva and Caitlin Lucas (Central European University)
  • at 3-6PM (CET) “Preventing, witnessing, and tackling extremism in a classroom” by Heidi Maiberg (University of Tartu)

Wednesday, 2nd of March

  • at 10-11.30AM (CET) “Islam: Religion, Culture, and a Changing Society” by Elo Süld (University of Tartu)
  • at 12.25-14.30AM (CET) “Multicultural education – A small theoretical start and teaching activities” by Vanda Vanickova and Michal Rigel (University of Hradec Kralove) in Czech

Thursday, 3rd of March

  • at 2.55-4.35PM (CET) “Asylum and Alien Law” by Filip Rigel (University of Hradec Kralove) in Czech

Friday, 4th of March

  • at 3-5PM (CET) “Guidelines on tackling sensitive topics in a classroom?” by Urszula Markowska-Manista (University of Warsaw)
