The third NearEU Master Class focused on the situation in Belarus

On May 21st, the NearEU Jean Monnet Module continued with its 3rd Master Class, entitled “Belarus and its Future: between Russia and the EU”, which was delivered by Christopher Forst, who is the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung’s representative for Belarus and Head of the Regional Office “Dialogue Eastern Europe” based in Kyiv. He holds a Master’s degree in EU-Russia Studies from the University of Tartu in Estonia. Before his assignment in Kiev, he worked for four years in the foundation’s Africa Department.

The Master Class looked at the Belarus’ ongoing internal political crisis and its broader geo-political and societal implications for the region. The open lecture also discussed the broader relevance of the following political developments in Belarus for the EU and Russia; as well as the country’s relations with the respective actors.

The Master Class attracted a very high level of interest, bringing together participants from both partner institutions of the module and all around the world.

It was an honor and a pleasure to host Mr. Forst digitally as the leader of our NearEU Master Class session. See more pictures from the master class in the gallery section.
