Jean Monnet Module NearEU launches a new MOOC “Common Challenges of Competing Regionalisms”

Want to know more about different contemporary geo-territorial and geo-political contexts in Europe and Eurasia? Looking for a way to increase your knowledge about different historical and institutional perspectives so you can assess European and Eurasian regional developments? Do you have burning questions about the horizontal and vertical aspects of European integration? The University of Tartu’s Jean Monnet Module “NearEU” is pleased to announce their newest MOOC – “Common Challenges of Competing Regionalisms”!

Open to all interested parties – students and non-students, those affiliated and not affiliated with UT, and anyone who hears about it through the grapevine – Common Challenges of Competing Regionalisms will take place over the course of 6 weeks (26.4.2021 to 6.6.2021) and provide you with 2 ECTS. Best of all? It’s completely free. Registration is available via the following link until 22.04.2021.

At the end of the course, you will be able to understand and distinguish key concepts and fundamentals of regional integration within the EU according to various milestones and in relation to supranationalism, parliamentarism and governance in different regional contexts. You will also be able to analyze and develop your own arguments concerning concrete cases of regional integration and discuss potential future trends.

The course features contributions from Anna Beitane, Stefano Braghiroli, Andrey Makarychev, Kristel Vits, Maili Vilson and partnering experts from the NearEU Module. You can check some behind the scenes pictures of the filming process from the following gallery.
