Johann Fischer was one of the most striking figures in Baltic cultural and intellectual history – an outstanding theologian and churchman whose legacy belongs to German, Swedish, Latvian and Estonian church history alike.

This interdisciplinary conference brings different research traditions together to examine Fischer’s life, work and reception in a broader European and Baltic context.
