• Major problems and challenges in society and education.
• What affects the position of young people in society?
• What do young people consider important?
• The importance of education in the development of societies in the Middle East, North Africa and the Arab region.

Goals for the week:

• Understand what it means to be a student in a Middle Eastern context.
• Understand the gender issue in education (what it means for girls to go to primary or secondary school).
• Understand the link between access to education and the changes taking place in society – why do these societies see the potential for change through education?
