Home

The course “Islam: Religion, Culture and Changing Societies” is an interdisciplinary MOOC that provides participants with a basic understanding of the critical issues that shape the public opinion about the Islamic religion and the changes in societies of the Middle East, North Africa, and Arabia. The MOOC aims to discuss people living in Muslim communities by highlighting their beliefs and social developments that exist but are not visible in the mass media. In addition to education and policy, the course also focuses on environmental issues and the intrinsic diversity of Islam. The MOOC aims to amplify issues that would not otherwise arise, such as Islamic religious minorities and the role of religion in protecting the environment.
