Centre of Excellence

The Centre of Excellence “Advanced materials and high-technology devices for energy recuperation systems” addresses cutting-edge science and technology, involving stakeholders from industry, decision makers and society, in order to develop functional materials for environmentally friendly sustainable energy technologies, sensorics and electronics. The combined expertise of partners in experimental and theoretical studies enables the “full sequence” of power sources development: design and synthesis of components, their characterization, preparing and testing of the laboratory and small-scale prototypes. Centre of Excellence complies with the priorities of the R&D strategies of Europe (the Innovation Union and Energy Union), Estonia ("Knowledge-based Estonia" 2014-2020, Estonian Energy Technology Development Plan ENMAK 2030+), University of Tartu and Tallinn University of Technology. General goals are development of innovative basic and applied knowledge on materials and devices for modern society and preparation of highly qualified young scientists in the field of modern technologies.

The Centre consists of 10 working groups.

The Centre of Excellence is funded by EU Regional Development Fund (4501391 € from total 4738306 €, project code: 2014-2020.4.01.15-0011).
