Laurits Leedjärv from Tartu Observatory recently gave interviews in Postimees, discussing the latest developments in exoplanet research.

In one interview, he explained how Tõravere-based stellar physicists are helping to detect potential signs of life in the universe by studying the stars around which exoplanets orbit. Understanding these host stars, he noted, is crucial for interpreting the characteristics and potential habitability of the planets themselves.

In a separate interview, Leedjärv commented on the discovery of a potentially habitable planet located just 4.3 light-years from Earth. He highlighted the importance of this nearby exoplanet as a prime candidate for future observation and study, emphasizing that even a single such discovery can provide valuable insights into planetary systems beyond our own.
