EXOHOST team member Veronika Mitrokhina took part in the European Astrobiology Institute’s Spring School “The Birth of Solar Systems” in Bertinoro, Italy. The international school brought together young researchers for lectures and hands-on training focused on the formation of protoplanetary disks and the processes that lead to the birth of planets.

During the school’s poster session, Mitrokhina presented her work “Detectability of Deuterium in the Spectra of A-type Stars.” Her study explores whether signatures of deuterium — an isotope of hydrogen — can be detected in stellar spectra, especially in cases where the surfaces of A-type stars may be affected by accretion or planetary material.
Her participation highlights EXOHOST’s contribution to international training activities and ongoing research into the early stages of planetary system formation.
