Entangled Borderlands: Mapping Intra-Imperial Connections for a New Spatial History of the Late Romanov Empire

Catherine Gibson presents project findings at CBSE, 24-26 April 2025

From 24-26 April 2025, Catherine Gibson participated in the Conference on Baltic Studies in Europe at the University of Cambridge in a roundtable on “(De)colonial Visions: New Perspectives on Ethnographic Imagery and Visual Culture in Baltic Studies.” Her contribution discussed ways in which we can approach urban plans as sources to examine stories of power and resistance in the streetscapes of multiethnic cities of the Romanov Empire.
