Researchers WANTED!

The cGEM project has launched the third call to look for international talent to complement the team of Institute of Genomics.

We are looking for two highly motivated postdoctoral researchers in genetics, medical, bioinformatics, molecular biology, cell biology, archaeogenetics, biological anthropology or related fileds  to join an interdisciplinary research group formed through the ERA Chair project Centre for Genomics, Evolution and Medicine (cGEM) at the University of Tartu, Estonia. This group, led by cGEM ERA Chair Dr Anders Eriksson, was recently formed with the goal to bridge the fields of bioinformatics, evolutionary biology and genomic medicine.

The postdoc’s work will focus on genetic adaptations to environmental and cultural changes in human populations of West Eurasia during the last 20,000 years, a time period that covers major shifts in climate, diet and pathogen exposures in this region. The postdoctoral positions of the two research directions will be co-supervised by senior researchers of the cGEM group: evolutionary genetics direction by Dr Michael Dannemann, bioinformatics and medical genomics dierction by Dr Dr Irene Gallego Romero, Dr Tõnis Org and Dr Georgi Hudjašov.

To complement the research group, we are looking for:

Research Fellow of Evolutionary Genetics

Research Fellow of Bioinformatics and Medical Genomics
