Introduction

Marina Aunapuu, Senior Lecturer of Histology, Senior Research Fellow
Andres Arend, Professor of Histology and Embryology
University of Tartu, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Anatomy, 2013

This learning object aims to support the self-learning of histological structures of the human nervous system (brain, cerebellum, spinal cord, ganglia). Approximately 4 hours is estimated for refreshing and deepening the knowledge about the specific structures of the organs of the nervous system.

The students who have used this learning object should be able to understand the basic construction principles of organs of the nervous system, define and describe the histological characteristics of organs of the nervous system and relate the structures with the functions.

In this learning object one can find additional illustrative sources for the practical classes of neurohistology and tests for self-assessment of the obtained knowledge.
