{"id":32,"date":"2024-04-04T04:34:36","date_gmt":"2024-04-04T01:34:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/water\/water-cycle\/"},"modified":"2024-04-16T00:33:45","modified_gmt":"2024-04-15T21:33:45","slug":"water-cycle","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/water\/water-cycle\/","title":{"rendered":"Water cycle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Water is one of the most common substances on Earth \u2013 it covers about 71% of the Earth\u2019s surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As seen in the pie chart below, 96.5% of the planet\u2019s crust water is found in seas and oceans, 1.7% in groundwater, 1.7% in glaciers and the ice caps of Antarctica and Greenland and a small fraction in other water bodies (such as lakes, rivers and swamps), while 0.001% is air vapor in clouds (formed of ice and liquid water suspended in air), and precipitation.
