{"id":304,"date":"2025-02-04T21:23:53","date_gmt":"2025-02-04T19:23:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/uproeu\/?p=304"},"modified":"2025-02-05T15:53:08","modified_gmt":"2025-02-05T13:53:08","slug":"summary-of-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/uproeu\/summary-of-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Summary of 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here is the summary of our previous year:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>8 new Wikipeedia articles were created.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 MA theses were defended:<ul><li>\u201cThe principle of good faith in reversing the burden of proof in civil proceedings\u201d by Brigitta J\u00f5gi<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>\u201cRestrictions of freedom of religion and belief in employment relationships in European Union countries and the United Kingdom\u201d by Karine Janov<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cCertain selling arrangements in the context of free movement of goods\u201d by Liise Saar<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>6 BA research papers were defended:\u00a0<ul><li>\u201cProtection of fundamental rights in the field of Common Foreign and Security Policy\u201d by Aleksander Pajuri<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>\u201cLegitimacy of implementing Article 122 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union after the Lisbon Treaty and its impact on the competences of EU institutions\u201d by Henry Heinleht\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>\u201cApplication of the Natura derogation under Article 6(4) of the Habitats Directive in EU Member States\u201d (co-supervisor:\u00a0 Britta Rettel)\u00a0by Madelen Kalvik<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>\u201cProtection of foreign investments through arbitration and European Union law following the Achmea judgment\u201d by T\u00f5nu Kirs<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>\u201cSafeguards for privacy in automated traffic surveillance.\u201d by Paul Kaasik<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cSustainability due diligence as a solution to the transnational value chain accountability gap\u201d by Kadi Ilves<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>European Law Moot Court team 2023\/2024: Melmariin Salum\u00e4e, Laura Lajal, Aleksander Pajuri, Henry Heinleht<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Several schools were visited, including Tallinna Kesklinna P\u00f5hikool and Paide G\u00fcmnaasium.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We published different articles, from which we would highlight:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Katariina Kuum published an article based on her MA thesis in Juridica<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We participated in various conferences and spoke in national media.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr Carri Ginter contributed to European Account Preservation Order.
