The University of Tartu - Department of Geography, Institute of Computer Science, Tartu Observatory - and Tartu Science Park jointly invite interested citizens, students, researchers, coders, designers, geographers, and Earth and Space data enthusiasts to the Tartu-hosted hackathon event as part of the 2019 International SpaceApps Challenge.

The NASA Space Apps Challenge 2018 is a two-days international hackathon that occurs in cities around the world, on the wekend 19.-21. of October, globally coordinated by NASA. It is an annual event that pulls citizens together regardless of their background or skill level. Coders, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, builders, technologists, and everyone enthusiastic about curiosity come together to address challenges we face on Earth and in space. The Department of Geography, jointly with Tartu Observatory and the Institute of Computer Science, will be hosting as one the many international event locations.

In this e-course we will focus on the topics: interpolation; sampling; quantization; aliasing; arithmetic and logic operations; convolution and correlation; mask operation; image averaging; ordered statistical filters; illumination enchantment; and first and second order differential operations.
