href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/fact-tank\/2015\/02\/09\/europes-jewish-population\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">The Jewish population in Europe is constantly decreasing since 1939 <\/a> particularly in the Eastern and Central part of the continent. Yet, manifestations of antisemitism can be observed in both Eastern and Western Europe. In extreme cases, antisemitism threats health and life of members of the Jewish community, sustaining discussion about the future of their communities in Europe.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAnti-Semitims is an attitude that expresses discrimination, prejudice, aversion and hostility towards Jews and persons of Jewish origin, perceived as a religious, ethnic or racial group, for religious, economic or political reasons.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThere is a range of strategies that can be used to diminish biases, stereotypes and prejudices.<br>A range of them is described in the UNESCO and OSCE publication created within the program Words Into Action (2020)<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\" title=\"\"><span lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"line-height:107%\"><span>[1]<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>:\n<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t\tCounter-stereotypic imaging: confronting with examples of information that is contrary to the stereotype;\n\t\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t\tIndividuation: getting to know members of a given community in order to emphasize their individual characteristics and show that a given group is not homogeneous;\n\t\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t\tRecategorization: creating new parent categories that include members of different pre-existing categories; Perspective-taking: analyzing given case situations from the perspective of another person, imagining the experiences, thoughts, emotions of that person;\n\t\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t\tIncreasing opportunities for contact: creating opportunities for positive contact with representatives of the stigmatized groups in order to gain positive experiences in contact with its members;\n\t\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t\tPriming creativity: increasing creativity in thinking (which, according to research, results in greater openness in general).\n\t\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\n\t\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm;text-align: center\">\n\tTask 1<br>\n<\/h3>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Time:<\/strong> 20 min.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\">\n\tThe goal of this exercise<br>\n<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tTo make students reflect on attitudes towards national, ethnic, religious or racial groups in their societies.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tTo make students aware that Jews are not the only group in a society that can be experiencing hostile attitudes.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\">\n\t\u00a0<br>\n<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\">\n\tInstruction for teacher<br>\n<\/h4>\n<p>\n\tDivide students into pairs or small groups (3-4 persons).
