She dreams about a bicycle, even though in her country women are not allowed to drive any vehicles. To get the money for it, the rebellious girl takes part in a Quran recitation competition. Haifaa Al-Mansour shows that Wadjda and her mother are not only the victims of social and political oppression but that they also are home activists fighting for the issues that concern them as the women.
